Globenomics

Terms of Service

Last updated 17 September 2026

Esta página está disponível apenas em inglês: uma tradução automática não revista de um contrato é mais perigosa do que um texto honesto em inglês. Escreve-nos e explicamos qualquer ponto em português.

The short version

  • Globenomics is free. You never have to pay to use the globe, the data or the games.
  • GlobeMillions are points inside a game. They are not money, cannot be cashed out, and cannot be sent to another player.
  • Owning a country is a position in a game that lasts up to 24 hours. It gives you no rights over any real place.
  • The economic data is compiled from public sources and may be wrong or out of date. Do not make decisions that matter based on it.
  • If you buy Pro, you can cancel at any time — that stops future charges and you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends. There is a 14-day refund window on a first subscription; the Refund Policy covers renewals separately.

1. Who you are agreeing with

Globenomics (“we”, “us”) is an independent project that operates the website at globenomics.world and the games and features on it (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

When you buy a subscription, the seller of that subscription is not us but Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as merchant of record. Paddle’s own buyer terms apply to the transaction itself — the payment, the invoice and the tax. These terms cover your use of the Service.

2. Who may use it

The Service is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you are under the age at which you can enter a contract where you live, you may use the free Service but you may not buy anything without a parent or guardian’s consent.

Buying GlobeMillions and staking them in a duel is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to do either, and the store asks you to confirm this before your first purchase. A duel with no stake is open to everyone who may use the Service.

3. Accounts

You do not need an account. Without one you can still use the globe, the rankings and every game; your scores live in your own browser.

With an account, you are responsible for keeping access to it secure, and for everything done through it. Tell us at globenomics.review@gmail.com if you think someone else is using it.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deletion is permanent: it removes your profile, your saved game records and your balances. It does not reverse payments already made — those follow the Refund Policy.

4. Fair play

The Service is a game with a shared economy and public leaderboards, so a small number of people behaving badly spoils it for everyone. You agree not to:

  • use bots, scripts, automation or any other program to play games, earn GlobeMillions or place bids;
  • buy, sell, rent or give away an account, or offer to; or sell, buy or trade GlobeMillions, duel outcomes or country ownership anywhere outside the Service — including arranging duels or takeovers whose only purpose is to move GlobeMillions between accounts;
  • create additional accounts to farm rewards, claim referral bonuses for yourself, or evade a limit or suspension;
  • exploit a bug rather than reporting it — including any bug that creates GlobeMillions, inflates a score or grants ownership you did not pay for;
  • interfere with the Service, its infrastructure or other people’s use of it, including scraping at a rate that degrades it for others;
  • choose a username or avatar that is hateful, harassing, deceptive or impersonates someone else.

If you break these rules we may remove content, reverse rewards obtained through the breach, suspend earning, or close the account. We aim to be proportionate and to explain what happened, and you can always write to us to contest it.

5. GlobeMillions

GlobeMillions (“GBM”) are a virtual, in-game currency. This section is the one most worth reading carefully, because people reasonably assume otherwise about anything called a currency.

  • They are not money. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be redeemed, sold or withdrawn.
  • They are not transferable. They cannot be sent, traded or gifted to another account. GlobeMillions move between accounts in exactly two ways. The first is winning a duel: both players stake the same amount, and the winner receives the pot less a 7% share that is removed from circulation. The second is a takeover — buying a country out from the player who holds it: the buyer pays the takeover price, the previous holder receives 60% of it (80% on the fourth and last takeover of an ownership period), and the rest is removed from circulation. A shield is paid to no one and is removed from circulation in full. There is no other transfer, and we do not arrange or honour one.
  • A takeover is final. Once a takeover completes, the country and the rest of its ownership period belong to the buyer, and the previous holder keeps their share of the price. We may reverse a takeover or a shield, and act on the accounts involved, where we reasonably believe it was used to move GlobeMillions between accounts rather than to play.
  • A stake is a stake. Once a duel’s countdown has started, neither player can withdraw. Leaving a duel in progress counts as a loss. A duel that cannot be completed, or that we void, returns both stakes in full. We may void or reverse a duel, and act on the accounts involved, where we reasonably believe it was played to move GlobeMillions rather than to compete.
  • They are a licence, not property. Buying GlobeMillions buys a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use them inside the Service. You do not own them as an asset.
  • They exist only inside the Service. If the Service, or a feature of it, is discontinued, GlobeMillions stop existing with it.
  • We may correct balances. If GlobeMillions are credited by mistake, through a bug, or through a payment that is later refunded or charged back, we may reverse them with a compensating entry. We do not delete history; a reversal is recorded as its own entry.
  • A balance can go negative after a refund of GlobeMillions you have already spent. While it is negative, spending is blocked until it is repaid through normal play.

We may change how GlobeMillions are earned, what things cost, and the rates involved. The economy needs tuning to stay playable, and that is a normal part of running a game. What we will not do is retroactively take away GlobeMillions that were legitimately earned or bought.

6. Owning a country

Owning a country in Globenomics is a position in a game. It lasts 12 hours from the moment it is won at auction, or 24 hours when it is bought at the buy-now price, after which the country becomes available again and the previous owner has no special claim to it. Until then another player may buy it out for the rest of that period, as Section 5 describes, unless its holder has shielded it.

It confers no right, title or interest of any kind in any real country, territory, government or property, and no relationship with or endorsement by any of them. Country names, flags and borders are used to identify places, as an atlas does.

GlobeMillions spent on winning a country, buying one out or shielding one are spent. They are not a deposit and are not returned when the ownership period ends. If a country is bought out from you, you receive the share of the takeover price set out in Section 5 and nothing else.

7. Pro subscriptions

Pro is an optional paid subscription. It adds to what the free Service does; it does not take anything away from it. Games, XP, leaderboards and country ownership remain available without paying.

  • Prices are shown on the Pro page. For customers in the EU and the UK the price shown includes VAT; elsewhere applicable tax is added at checkout and shown before you pay.
  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price you agreed, until you cancel it.
  • You can cancel at any time from your profile settings. Cancelling stops the next payment; Pro continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • If a renewal payment fails, we keep Pro active for a short grace period while the payment is retried, and tell you how to fix it, before returning the account to free.
  • When Pro ends for any reason, the GlobeMillions and XP you earned stay yours and any country you own runs to its normal expiry.

If we materially reduce what Pro includes, or raise the price, we will tell you before it affects you and you may cancel. Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.

8. Payments

All payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record. Paddle is the legal seller, takes the payment, calculates and remits any tax due in your country, and issues your invoice. We never see or store your card details.

Because Paddle is the seller, refunds and chargebacks are handled through Paddle. Our Refund Policy explains what we will ask Paddle to do and when.

9. The data, and what it is worth

Globenomics presents economic and geographic data compiled from public sources. We take care with it, but we do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete or current, and figures for the same indicator legitimately differ between sources, definitions and years.

Nothing on the Service is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing on it should be relied on for any decision that matters. It is a tool for curiosity and a set of games built on top of one.

10. What belongs to whom

The Service — its code, design, written content, games and the way the data is organised and presented — belongs to us. You may use it, link to it, quote it with attribution and screenshot it. You may not copy it wholesale, resell it, or pass it off as your own product.

The underlying facts are not ours and we claim nothing over them. Anything you add — a username, an avatar — remains yours, and you give us only the permission needed to show it inside the Service.

11. Availability

The Service is provided as it is, without any warranty. It is an independent project, not an enterprise product with an uptime guarantee: it may be unavailable, slow, or temporarily missing a feature, and we may change or remove features as it develops.

12. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for loss of virtual items, scores, streaks or GlobeMillions.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or €50.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for your rights as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country you live in.

13. Ending it

You can stop using the Service, and delete your account, at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and in serious cases without notice — for example automated play or exploiting a bug to create GlobeMillions.

If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, and you have unused paid time, we will refund it.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service changes. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects you — particularly anything about payment, refunds or your GlobeMillions — we will give notice inside the Service before it takes effect, rather than relying on you to re-read this page.

15. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Portugal. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.

EU residents can also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform, though we would much rather you wrote to us first and gave us a chance to fix it.

16. Contact

Write to globenomics.review@gmail.com. A real person answers, in English, Russian, Portuguese or Spanish. For questions about a payment, an invoice or a card, Paddle can also help directly as the seller of record.
